Christmas Spirit Has Finally Landed
Now that Christmas is over, I think I am finally in the "Christmas Spirit." Here's why:
- Christmas has become entirely driven by corporation and all about pushing products on consumers. Now that Christmas is a thing of the past, I no longer feel these unnecessary stresses and irritating pressures to be labeled as "Ebeneezer Scrooge" if I don't buy presents and send cards to absolutely everyone I know.
- Since the crazy shopping season is over, everyone now, it seems, is less crazy. The amount of traffic congestion has seriously diminished, there are no longer 30 minute lines at the checkout counters at stores, and everyone seen out in public is noticeably more relaxed than they were a week after Thanksgiving.
- Also, the anxieties from spit-shining the house and preparing dinner (or in my case, more like avoiding the kitchen to not get an unused frying pan thrown in my direction) are over and done with as well.
